Clean for the City
As part of Renokrew’s “Sustainability in Action” initiative this April, our team proudly participated in the Wincott Park Earth Day Tree Planting Event on Tuesday, April 22, 2025: through action: planting native trees and shrubs to help grow Toronto’s urban forest.
Organized by the City of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation, this public event welcomed residents, local businesses, and organizations to dig in – literally – and support the city’s ambitious goal of increasing its tree canopy to 40% by 2050. We were proud to be a part of it.
Under clear skies, we met at the south end of Wincott Park near Moline Drive. With shovels in hand and custom Renokrew T-shirts on, our team of 10 was full of energy (and coffee), ready to get our hands dirty.
💚 The Mission: Together with other community groups, we planted native species designed to improve biodiversity, support pollinators, and create a healthier environment for future generations.
“I never thought tree planting could feel like a team-building activity-but it did. It reminded me that the work we do at Renokrew, even when it’s on a construction site, is about building for people and for the planet.”
“Being out there with my coworkers, family, and strangers who just care-it felt good,” added Sasan, Project Coordinator. “It was a small action, but it felt powerful.”
🌱 Team Culture in Action
This Earth Day event brought us together as a team-showing up for our community and environment and bringing those values to life in a meaningful way. The best takeaway? We had a lot of fun simply spending time together – digging, planting, laughing, and enjoying real conversations over lunch afterward.
It reminded us that even the smallest acts – done together – can leave a lasting impact.
Following the event, the Renokrew team returned to the office for a well-deserved “Lunch on Us” team appreciation meal, celebrating not only the hard work of the morning but also the meaningful contribution made toward a greener city.
