This project, developed in partnership with Canadian Forces Housing Agency (CFHA) | Agence de logement des Forces canadiennes (ALFC) and Defence Construction Canada, added two new apartment buildings to the base’s housing inventory, reinforcing Renokrew’s commitment to sustainable, high-quality construction in support of Canada’s armed forces.
The two newly constructed apartment buildings introduce twelve modern, two-bedroom residential housing units (RHUs), designed to provide comfortable and energy-efficient living spaces for military families. With an open-concept layout spanning 800 square feet per unit, the apartments integrate contemporary design elements while prioritizing long-term durability and functionality.
Key sustainable features incorporated into the development include:
- Energy-efficient building systems, featuring occupancy sensors and individual climate controls to reduce energy consumption.
- Tankless water heaters and low-flow plumbing fixtures minimize water usage while enhancing operational efficiency.
- 3 Green Globes (3GG) certification, recognizing the project’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
These sustainability-driven design choices aligned with the Defence Energy and Environment Strategy (DEES), positioning the project as a benchmark for future military housing developments across Canada.
